Job Description:

  • Maintaining/Updating cost accounting in ERP System – BOM’s, Routing, and Cost Estimates.
  • Assist in month end close activities & Reports – Preparing JE’s, Account Reconciliations.
  • Ensures accuracy of shift data (Raw and Packaging materials consumption, Operator logs, and timecard) in order to produce correct and timely calculations. Track, trend and train supervisors on improvement areas.
  • Investigate standard cost variances and communicate root cause information to management.
  • Work with Production to collect data and match with financial data to develop cost performance metrics.
  • Develops an understanding of Shop Floor process flow. Serve as a liaison between Finance and Operations.
  • Participates in weekly Operation metrics meetings to translate production trends to expected financial results.
  • Acts as a key resource for manufacturing, maintenance and engineering during the annual budget and capital planning process to ensure alignment with business strategies driving sales, marketing and manufacturing.
  • Evaluate data collection systems, business intelligence tools, and key performance metrics to ensure information integrity and expand on metrics and tools.

Experience and Skills:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business with emphasis in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting role or related desired.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to broad range of people from hourly employees to management.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and project management theory preferred.
  • Familiarity with various financial models required.
  • Requires strong quantitative and computer skills, including strong familiarity with MS Excel software. 
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
