  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date personnel information in HRIS 

  • Processes benefits enrollments and changes due to qualifying life events

  • Assists HR Generalist (Benefits) with administration of company benefits plans

  • Processes leave requests (verifying eligibility, tracking leave hours, etc.) and assists with preparing employee correspondence related to leave programs (FMLA, OFLA, disability, etc.)

  • Assists employees with questions and provides information specifically regarding benefits programs and leave programs, including other HR programs and activities

  • Liaison with Payroll Coordinator and Manufacturing Trainer in regards to employee leave status and payroll changes

  • Assists with annual open enrollment preparation and processing corresponding changes

  • Assists to maintain filing system and provides back up for Receptionist during absences

  • Cross-train to assist other HR Assistants

  • May assist with planning and coordinating company events (attendance may be required)

  • May be called on at the discretion of the Human Resources Manager to perform other duties as required


Experience and Skills:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • College level coursework in Human Resources, office administration, business administration or closely related field preferred.

  • Bi-Lingual Spanish experience preferred.
  • Three years Human Resources or related administration experience (equivalent education will be considered).

  • Excellent judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential information.

  • Proven organizational skills. 

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to develop letters, memos, forms, etc. from basic information. 

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Administration of an HRIS or similar record-keeping system (ADP preferred) 

  • Ability to manage competing demands, accept constructive feedback and be extremely adaptable and flexible.

  • Valid driver’s license and proof of current insurance. 

  • Reliable transportation to transport self between company facilities during work hours and occasionally after hours and on weekends as determined by mandatory company events.

  • Innovative self-starter with initiative to learn new processes and ability to understand new concepts while working independently.

  • Experience administering employee benefits and employee leave programs preferred.
